I am blessed each and every day I see joy in something that happens before my eyes through the lens of my camera.
Joyful Reflections was born out of a desire to share this joy with others. There is joy in your life...let me help you capture and cherish it for years to come.
Being your photographer, my goal is to create an atmosphere that is as casual or as formal as you wold like, but relaxed and fun while striving to capture those feelings, emotions and expressions of what comes naturally. This way each image is as unique and special as you! One that tells a story! I may even kick off my shoes, dance around, or lay on the ground to capture those shots when you least expect it. Each photo session is exciting, fresh and exhilarating for me. Always bringing joy.... because this is my passion!
WHAT ABOUT THE LOCATION
My love is outdoors in the natural light. The best lighting comes with the morning or early evening sun. Meet me in a field, an orchard, in the city, around an old building or even the shoreline. Perhaps you want the comfort of your own home surrounded by things you love, that would be great, but for the best lighting it must be near a window in the early afternoon.
For children, it's best to find a location where they can laugh, play and be themselves. Perhaps a local park, a farm, the beach or your own backyard. Shooting outdoors also helps children to feel and be more relaxed and allows me to capture those unique and special moments. I love discovering new places to photograph and would love to hear your ideas!
WHAT TO WEAR
Clothing is one of the most important elements to consider when planning your session. Keep it simple! The clothing you choose should complement not only you but the environment in which your photo session takes place. I suggest my clients wear casual comfortable clothes free of any logos, large patterns or stripes. Coordinate colors but they do not have to match. Vibrant and popping combinations can be fun too! For the babies, best naked, bare foot and fancy free! They are natural and beautiful in their own skin.

For Seniors, it's your final year of high school and time to celebrate the unique person you've become! So, bring whatever props help express you! Perhaps your musical instrument, sports equipment, even your car. Bring along friends...we'll do a group shot!
SCHEDULING A PORTRAIT SESSION
I limit the number of sessions I take on a monthly basis, so I recommend you book as early as possible to make sure I am available for you! The creation fee for your session is due upon scheduling or within seven days before your portrait session. If I do not receive payment within this time frame, I have the right to offer the date and time to another client. This fee guarantees the spot I have reserved for you. This fee is nonrefundable if you cancel your session without a 48 hours advance notice.
THE SESSION
Your portrait session will usually last one to two hours, but I will take whatever time is necessary to make sure everyone is relaxed and having fun, so I can capture them at their best. With children I will take a few posed shots, and the let them play and be themselves. I will even join in to create a comfortable environment and allow them to warm up to me. Remember children can have their own agendas but not to worry this can make for a more fun-filled experience. This allows me to capture special moments in between and guarantees each one of my sessions is unique.
POST PRODUCTION
After your session, my creative process begins as I go through each image and carefully hand pick the very best images that will appear in your gallery. I will then spend time editing a few images that will be shared on Facebook and/or Instagram.
At your scheduled session reveal you will choose the collection that best suits your needs. At this time, I will share with you many available options for prints and other products. I will also share with you ideas for framing and displaying your portraits.
I take pride in my unique editing process which can take approximately one to two weeks. I set high standards for myself and do not rush through the images.

It is my sincere hope that your portraits will be cherished family heirlooms for years and years to come. Your portraits are printed on high quality photo paper at a professional lab. Handle your portraits with utmost care. Keep them away from the damaging UV rays of the sun by not putting them directly across from a window. Perhaps use UV retardant glass available at custom frame shops. Any damage that may incur as a result of improper handling, framing or hanging is the responsibility of the client.
